Spanish Air Force Air Academy was established in August 1943, having a vital mission regarding the education and training of the future Spanish Air Force aviators and the rest of the supporting staff, such as engineers, financial advisors, or servicing units, among others.
Special attention was given from the very beginning to the military values, such as sacrifice, honour, loyalty and discipline, encouraging self-improvement and promoting team-work and cooperation among the rest of Spanish Armed Forces.
On September 15th, 1945, a first group of 251 cadets started the first training course, reaching a total number of 10.000 cadets over the 75 years of its existence. The Academy has enjoyed 935.000 flying hours since then, which is a very important figure.
As the current Lt. General Chief of the Spanish Air Force Personnel Directorate has just stated, the Academy has always been able to adapt to the necessary changes, keeping loyal to the Air Force and making sure the officers enjoy the best possible training.
